| Tatjana Huefner increases overall lead after fifth season’s victory | |
Oberhof (pps) Germany’s Olympic champion Tatjana Huefner is making great strides towards celebrating her fourth consecutive overall Viessmann Luge World Cup victory. At the sixth stop of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Oberhof, Germany, the 27-year old increased her overall lead thanks to her fifth season’s win to now 585 points. This translates into a lead of 110 points to runner-up Natalie Geisenberger, Germany, who has 475 points to her credit. On her training track Tatjana Huefner even improved Geisenberger’s start record of 7.995 seconds in her second run to 7.791. Thanks ot her 26th individual victory in the Viessmann Luge World Cup, Huefner impressively defeated her long-time rival Geisenberger to second place by a winning margin of 0.409 seconds. Anke Wischnewski took third place (0.932 seconds behind) ahead of Carina Schwab (both of Germany) and European champion Tajta Ivanova, Russia. Swiss luger Martina Kocher achieved her seaon’s best result, finishing in sixth position.
2007 World runner-up Anke Wischnewski holds third position in the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup with 415 points to her credit.
