Andi Langenhan announces official retirement

Berchtesgaden (RWH) Andi Langenhan of Germany, who finished fourth at the 2014 Olympics, has announced his official retirement from the luge track. The two-time World Championship runner-up and qualified coach will supervise the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation’s (BSD) B-team in future, as announced in an official statement from Berchtesgaden.

Andi Langenhan won gold at the 2012 FIL European Championships in Paramonovo (RUS) and also finished second at the 2013 European Championships. As well as winning two silver medals at the FIL World Championships in 2013 and 2016 (in the sprint event), Andi Langenhan also won two bronze medals (2008 and 2011). Andi Langenhan became a father for the first time shortly before competing in his third Olympic Games, the 2018 Games in PyeongChang (KOR).
