Former Luge Athlete new head coach of the Russian bobsleigh team

 Moscow (RWH) Danil Chaban is the new head coach of the Russian bobsleigh athletes. The Bobsleigh Federation of Russia (BFR) announced the appointment of the former luge athlete and skeleton coach in a press release, published now in Moscow.  The former luge athlete has extensive competition experience and a good knowledge of the team, as he has been working and competing together with BFR President Alexander Zubkov ever since the days when they were professional athletes. Chaban/Zubkov won the gold medal at the 1994 Luge Junior World Championships in the doubles discipline.

 Since May 2013, Danil Chaban was senior coach of the Russian national skeleton team. Now the senior position in skeleton goes to Anatoliy Chelyshev, who, amongst others, worked with Olympic champion Alexander Tretiakov and World Championships bronze medallist Nikita Tregubov.
