German TV legend Klaus Angermann to celebrate 80th birthday

Wiesbaden (RWH) German TV legend Klaus Angermann celebrates his 80th birthday on June 24. Even beyond the German border, the Dresden-born commentator became a renowned luge specialist. Klaus Angermann is still closely connected with the International Luge Federation (FIL) and a welcomed guest at numerous events.

From 1963 until 1998 Angermann worked as a sports reporter for the German public TV station ZDF and covered 19 Olympic Games from 1972 until 2010. Since 1965 Angermann also accompanied 46 editions of the Tour de France in cycling. Then, from 1998 until 2001, he worked as commentator for luge and cycling with Eurosport. At the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City he acted as spokesman for the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Germany.
