Germany’s team relay squad celebrates 32nd victory

Innsbruck-Igls (RWH): The German squad has secured victory in the closing race at the opening weekend of luging in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. The squad, who are guided by head coach Norbert Loch and made up of Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and the doubles pairing of Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken, celebrated their 32nd race win.

Second place went to the Canadian team of Alex Gough, Mitchel Malyk and the doubles pair Tristan Walker/Justin Snith. Russia’s squad, made up of Ekaterina Baturina, Semen Pavlichenko and Alexandre Denisev/Vladislav Antonov, finished in third.

A total of 15 team relay squads signed up to compete in the opening event for the Olympic winter.
