Oleg Demchenko new head coach in Korea

Seoul (RWH) The Korean Luge Federation has found a new head coach. Russia’s Oleg Demchenko, brother of the three-time Olympic silver medallist Albert Demchenko, will succeed Steffen Sartor in the post-Olympic winter. This was confirmed by various sources.

With Sartor as head coach, Olympic hosts Korea made a name for themselves at the Winter Games with some solid results. The naturalised German Aileen Frisch finished eighth, while the doubles duo of Yunyong Park/Jung Myung Cho and the relay team finished ninth.

Steffen Sartor has returned to his native Germany to work as a regional coach based in Altenberg, and his assistant Robert Fegg coaches the USA junior team.
