Record-breaking World Champion Tatjana Hüfner to compete for another year

Erfurt (RWH) Record-breaking World Champion Tatjana Hüfner has decided to extend her career for another year. The 2010 Olympic Champion announced her intention at the annual ball for Thuringian sports stars in Erfurt. Hüfner, who celebrates her 35th birthday on 30 April, finished fourth at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang (KOR). In addition to gold in Vancouver, she has also won Olympic silver (2014) and bronze (2006).

Hüfner, who is a soldier in the German army, clinched her fifth World Championship gold medal in the women’s event in Innsbruck in 2017, following her previous wins in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012. She has also topped the overall classification in the Viessmann World Cup on five occasions,and was European Champion in 2016.
