Donation campaign for Nodar Kumaritashvili's family

Berchtesgaden (pps) The International Luge Federation (FIL) has launched a donation campaign to financially support the family of Nodar Kumaritashvili. The athlete from Georgia died in a training accident on the opening day of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, at the age of 21.


According to information from the President of the Luge Federation of Georgia, the family is in urgent need of financial support. Some years ago, their house was completely destroyed by fire. Mainly with the help of their only son, the family had begun to rebuild the house, which is still far from completion. As immediate support, the FIL already transferred 10,000.- Euros to the family.
