Special Award from Austria’s Sports Aid Foundation

Vienna (pps) Still active in luge – but for all that Andreas and Wolfgang Linger are already a sports legend in Austria. This is why the two-time Olympic champions in the doubles’ were accepted into the illustrious circle of “Young Legends”. Thanks to the remarkable project “Sporthilfe Legenden-Armband” (Sports Aid Foundation Legend Wristband) the Alpine Republic’s young athletes receive financial support and assistance.

For the first time in the history of Austrian sports, the great idols and legends are decorated with a special award. Back home in Austria, the two Linger brothers are put on the same level as exceptional athletes such as Franz Klammer (Olympic downhill champion), his successor Hermann Maier (Alpine skiing), footballer Hans Krankl, tennis player Juergen Melzer or ski jumper Andi Goldberger.
