| Wendl/Arlt captures Victory in Cesana | |
Florschuetz/Wustlich for the first Time Winner of the Overall World Cup
Cesana (pps) Germany’s Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt realized to win their second race of the Olympia Season, but their team-mates Andre Florschuetz/Torsten Wustlich captured for the first time ever the success in the overall World Cup. Wendl/Arlt bat Italy’s Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber with just nine thousands of a second of advantage. Third place on the Olympic track of 2006 went to Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch from Germany. In the Overall standings of Viessmann Luge World Cup Florschuetz/Wustlich won with a total of 592 points followed by Leitner/Resch (570) and Oberstolz/Gruber (547). Christian Niccum/Dan Joye (USA) finished in Cesana on 5th place. It was the best result of Olympic season. They finished the overall World Cup on 8th place with 317 points.
