Nation’s Cup at Innsbruck-Igls
Erin Hamlin, Ludwig and Penz/Fischer the Winners Innsbruck-Igls (pps) Erin Hamlin (USA) Johannes Ludwig (GER) and Austria’s Local Heroes Peter Penz/Georg Fischler are the names of the first winners of the new loge season 2011/2012. At the nation’s cup, the qualification race for the Viessmann Luge World Cup this weekend at Innsbruck-Igls, the women’s race was won by former World Champion Erin Hamlin. Second place went to Germany’s Corinna Martini followed by Eliza Tiruma from Latvia. Johannes Ludwig, who dominated the selections races of the German team, in the pre-season, took home victory in the men’s race. Second place went to his team-mate Ralf Palik followed by Italy’s Dominik Fischnaller. Peter Penz/Georg Fischler finished the double’s race in first place. Christian Niccum/Jason Terdiman captured second place followed Lucas Broz/Antonin Broz (CZE).
