Berchtesgaden (pps) Karl-Heinz Anschütz (GER) will remain Sport Coordinator of the International Luge Federation (FIL) for all Viessmann World Cups and SUZUKI Challenge Cups up to 2010. This was decided by the FIL Executive Board. Anschütz, who lives in the German federal state of Thuringia, has been performing this job since the 2002/2003 season after being permanent Technical Delegate of the FIL since 1996.

With the intention of improving communication with event organizers in USA and Canada, the FIL Executive Board also decided to give more responsibilities to Norway’s Björn Dyrdahl, who has so far been working alongside Anschütz as Permanent Technical Delegate. The former chief of police of Trondheim has great knowledge and experience as an official in the sport of luge; he served, for example, as Technical Delegate of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin.
