The SUZUKI Motor Corporation is an independent manufacturer of cars, motorcycles and boat engines and has its head office in Hamamatsu, Japan. With 45,510 employees worldwide, the company has been setting new records in production, sales and business volume ever since 1999. In the fiscal year 2006/2007, net sales amounted to 19.4 billion Euros (3.164 billion yens) representing a 15.2% increase compared to the previous year. This ambitious growth trend is to be continued in future years as well. In the 2006/2007 fiscal year, 2.222 million cars and 3.065 million motorcycles were registered all over the world. In the coming fiscal year, the number of sold cars is expected to increase to 2.405 million with an expected rise to 3.0 million cars and 3.743 million motorcycles + ATVs in 2009/2010.

SUZUKI International Europe GmbH
With the foundation of SUZUKI International Europe GmbH in October 2003, the SUZUKI Motor Corporation, which operates in 192 countries, has set the course for growth in Germany as well. In Bensheim, Hessia, the three business areas automobile, motorcycle and naval technology are operated under one roof and the company’s German-wide activities are coordinated.
The automobile branch of SUZUKI International Europe GmbH is the main- and title sponsor of the SUZUKI Challenge Cup and of the SUZUKI Team Relay and supports the luge World Cup series as one of three main sponsors. Within the scope of its commitment as an important partner of the FIL the company intends to place its attractive, individual and reliable vehicles in a sporty environment.

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the International Luge Federation has published a three-volume book set on FIL history, statistics and memorabilia.
The book can be purchsed through the publishing house Egon Theiner Verlag.

:: Donation account for Mizoguchi

The International Luge Federation has opened a donation account for the Brazilian athlete Renato Mizoguchi who seriously crashed on the Olympic luge track in Torino on January 30, 2005. After his crash, Renato had to end his luge career. His health, which has not yet completely restored, has also resulted in financial problems for him.
