10th World Cup anniversary for the Team Relay

Berchtesgaden (RWH) This season marks a special anniversary for the Team Relay of the International Luge Federation (FIL). The is the 10th year of the exhilarating Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW on the World Cup schedule.
Last year Germany won the ninth running of the event for the ninth time but suffered a shocking defeat at the World and European Championships. The Russian quartet had the edge at the 48th FIL World Championships in Winterberg, while the Italian squad won out of the blue at the continental championships in Oberhof.
Despite this, Germany is once again the number one favorite in this season’s Viessmann World Cup presented by BMW. Russia has developed into a serious contender in recent years, and it will also be interesting to see how the Latvian and Italian teams perform. And Austria’s head coach René Friedl may finally see his charges add their names to the list of Team Relay winners.
