Berchtesgaden (RWH) Germany’s luge team is preparing for the Winter Olympic Games with more athletes in its A-squad than ever before. Following a decision by the coaching board, which was ratified by the sports committee, 13 athletes including Sochi Olympic Champions Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt and the current World Champions Tatjana Hüfner and Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken, were called up to the elite squad.

First-time members of the A-squad include the World Championship bronze medallists Robin Geueke/David Gamm and the former Junior World Champion Julia Taubitz. The only athlete relegated to the B-squad is the former European Champion Dajana Eitberger.
