Johannes Ludwig and Ewelina Staszulonek the winners
Ilmenau / Germany (pps) Johannes Ludwig of Germany and Poland’s Ewelina Staszulonek were the winners of the 18th International FIL Luge Summer Cup in Ilmenau. On the 460 meters long track that boasts eight curves and a gradient of up to twelve per-cent, The 24-year old federal police officer from Oberhof distanced Olympic silver medalist David Moeller of Germany to second place. Andi Langenhan (Germany) took third place.
In the absence of Germany’s top women lugers, Poland’s Olympic 8th-placed Ewelina Staszulonek achieved the victory in the women’s singles event. Second and third place went to Johanna Habermann and Katrin Rudolph (both of Germany) respectively.
