Vancouver (pps) The 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, are already on the horizon. From September 25 to 27, 2008, one and a half years before the opening ceremony on February 12, 2010, the Executive Board of the International Luge Federation (FIL) will hold its fall meeting in the future Olympic city.

On September 27, after two meeting days in Vancouver, the Executive Board members will inspect the combined bobsleigh and luge track at Whistler Sliding Center. The new artificially refrigerated track will see its first crucial test during the FIL’s International Training Week from November 8 to 15, 2008. On February 20/21, the final of the Viessmann World Cup series will be the first FIL competition to be held at this new venue.

The agenda of the FIL Executive Board meeting includes numerous topics such as important decisions in connection with the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the rules for the SUZUKI Challenge Cup and the assignment of officials in the upcoming season.
