26 nations set to compete as the 42nd Viessmann World Cup season gets underway in Innsbruck

Innsbruck (RWH) A total of 26 nations have registered to compete in the season-opening Viessmann Luge World Cup on 23/24 November 2019 in Innsbruck. Some 61 men, 54 women and 29 doubles pairs have been training on the 1976 Olympic track ahead of the 42nd season of the race series. Up to 13 national associations are reported to have registered for the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW.

By way of comparison and to jog the memory, a record number of 31 national associations registered for the season opener in Innsbruck during the Olympic winter of 2017/2018. Back then, 71 men, 65 women, 36 doubles duos and 15 potential team relay squads were involved in the competition.
