Emily Fischnaller, Leon Felderer, Storch/Patz, and Nagler/Malleier win
2nd Nations Cup in Park City (USA)
Park City (FIL/12 Dec 2025) On Friday, December 12, 2025, the second FIL Nations Cup of the 2025/2026 Olympic season took place at Utah Olympic Park (USA). The fastest lugers on the 2002 and 2034 Olympic track were Emily Fischnaller, Leon Felderer, Storch/Patz, and Nagler/Malleier.
Men's singles: Leon Felderer triumphs
Italy dominated the Nations Cup in the men's singles in Park City, with Leon Felderer securing a convincing victory. The Italian was the fastest at all the intermediate times and crossed the finish line in 45.068 seconds. His teammate Alex Gufler completed the Italian double success, finishing second with a deficit of +0.256 seconds. Germany's David Noessler secured third place with a solid time, finishing +0.353 seconds behind.
"I managed curve two quite well in the Nations Cup. I had a few crazy runs during training. Park City is incredibly fast, and when you come from Cortina, you're surprised at first and have to really adjust. I really like the two-day format of the World Cup. It makes it interesting for the spectators and gives us athletes good training for the Olympic Games, where we also have a night between the two race days," said winner Felderer.
Women's singles: Emily Fischnaller wins
A close race characterized the women's Nations Cup, where Emily Fischnaller (USA) clocked the fastest time of 43.483 seconds to secure victory. “I'm always very nervous at the Nations Cup, especially at a home race in the USA. You want to do particularly well and it's easy to mess up. Fortunately, it worked out today and I'm looking forward to the two World Cup races today and tomorrow,” said the winner.
Italy's Verena Hofer fought hard and finished second, just 0.024 seconds behind, while Embyr-Lee Susko (CAN) took third place, 0.104 seconds behind. The fastest 18 athletes qualified for the World Cup in Park City, alongside the twelve women from the seeded group.
Men's doubles: Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier the fastest
The doubles event was also exciting. Ivan Nagler and Fabian Malleier (ITA) prevailed over the competition in 43.297 seconds and secured victory in the second Nations Cup of the season. Tomas Vavercak and Matej Zmij (SVK) followed in second place, 0.226 seconds behind, while Dana Kellogg/Frank Ike (USA) completed the podium in third place (+0.248).
Women's doubles: Storch/Patz impress
In the women's doubles, Elisa-Marie Storch and Pauline Patz (GER) celebrated a commanding victory with a time of 45.477. Falkensteiner/Huber (ITA) took second place after encountering major difficulties in the lower section of the track. The run ended unhappily for Maya Chan and Sophia Gordon (USA): The US duo crashed in the lower section of the track but remained uninjured.
