30 nations competed during the 2015/2016 season

Munich (RWH)  A total of 30 nations competed in the luge during the 2015/2016 season. This figure was announced by FIL Sports Director Marie-Luise Rainer of Italy at the annual organisers meeting at BMW Welt in Munich. Athletes completed exactly 10,160 runs last winter during events on the FIL sporting calendar.

The FIL Sports Director took a positive view of training and track conditions. However, she took issue with the large number of disqualifications, primarily due to technical faults or infringements.

At the annual organisers meeting, which this year took place in Munich by invite of FIL sponsor BMW, the world federation meets with event organisers to reflect on the previous winter and discuss what lies ahead next season.
