32nd Gitschberg Start Cup 2025 – International luge competition in Meransen

Meransen (FIL/July 07, 2025) On the last weekend in August, Meransen in South Tyrol will once again become the center of the international luge scene: the 32nd Gitschberg Start Cup 2025 is just around the corner, a traditional start competition on the artificially iced start track of the Gitschberg Sports Club.
“Ready, set, SLEDGE!” is the motto when, on Saturday, August 30, young, junior, and senior athletes from several nations demonstrate their speed, technique, and responsiveness on the ice track. On Friday, August 29, there will be a full day of group training to prepare for the competition.

The Gitschberg Start Cup has been an integral part of the season preparation for international athletes for many years. The Italian national team also traditionally takes advantage of the optimal conditions on site for an intensive week of training in South Tyrol.
