Winterberg. With the 35th World Cup victory of his career, Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler extended his record in Viessmann Luge World Cup.
At the bobtrack in Winterberg (Germany), the five times World Champion from Italy won in 1 minute 48,936 seconds followed by the new World Champion David Möller (GER, 1 minute 49,022 seconds). With his victory, Zöggeler made up for the defeat at the World Championships in Igls, where the two times Olympic Champion lost the fight for his sixth gold medal thightly against Möller.
Third in Winterberg was Olympic silver-medallist Albert Demtschenko (1 minute 49,090 seconds) from Russia, who one year ago in Winterberg became European Champion for the first time.
Best US-athlete was Tony Benshoof, Vice-World-Champion with the team 2004 and 2005, on ninth rank (1 minute 49,348 seconds).
For his sixth victory in overall ranking of Viessmann Luge World Cup, Armin Zöggeler needs a twelvth rank at the World Cup finals in Sigulda (Latvia, 16th-18th February).
