Sigulda (pps) Germany`s luge team has won the team event at the 36. World Championsships for the seventh time. In Sigulda (Latvia) Sylke Otto, Georg Hackl and double Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch defended their title in two minutes 15,618 seconds. 
Latvia`s team with Anna Orlova, Martins Rubenis and Zigmars Berkolds/Sandris Berzins (2:15,934) won silver. It was the first medal in luge in history for Latvia. 
The Bronze medal went to Austria with Sonja Manzenreiter, Rainer Margreiter and Andres Linger/Wolfgang Linger (2:16,294). The Team of the USA (Brenna Margol, Adam Heidt, Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin) finiished on 7th place (2:16,886) followed by Canadas Team (Jeff Christie, Regan Lausher, Grant Albrecht/Eric Pothier).
