36th Junior World Championships 2021, Junior World Cup La Plagne (FRA) and Youth A-World Cups cancelled

Berchtesgaden (FIL) Due to the uncertain situation and unforeseeable development around the COVID-19 pandemic, the FIL Executive Board has decided to cancel the Junior World Championships 2021 (January 28-30 in Winterberg), the Junior World Cups in La Plagne (FRA) and the Youth A World Cup Series 2020/21.

These decisions were made at the request of the FIL's COVID-19 AG and in consultation with FIL Vice-President for Sport Claire DelNegro (USA) and the Chairman of the FIL Youth Commission Hans-Jürgen Köhne (GER).

All World Cups for young athletes will be run in the junior class only, both in the European and North American series in Whistler (CAN) and Park City (USA). The Youth A World Cups have been cancelled for the coming winter.

FIL Executive Director Christoph Schweiger said: "We deeply regret these decisions, but in view of the current COVID-19 situation there is no alternative. On behalf of the FIL Executive Board and COVID-19 AG, I would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank the track operators and organizers in La Plagne and Winterberg. They have tried everything to make the FIL junior events possible even under these difficult circumstances".
