Innsbruck/ Igls. Wilfried Huber, Sylke Otto and Tobias Schiegl/ Markus Schiegl are the winners of the third race to the Krombacher Challenge Cup at the Bobsleigh- Luge and Skeletontrack in Innsbruck-Igls.
Huber (Italia, 51,117 seconds) assertet himself in the finals against Challenge Cup leader Markus Kleinheinz from Austria (51,22X) and three times Olympic Champion Georg Hackl from Germany (51,299). In the overall standings Kleinheinz (270 points) is still leading, followed by Hackl (225) and Huber (210).
For two times World- and European Champion Sylke Otto (Germany, 41,455 seconds) it was the third victory in the third race. Her teammate Silke Kraushaar (41,793) came on second place followed by Austria’a Sonja Manzenreiter (42,423). In the overall standings Otto is leading unbeaten, followed by Kraushaar (240) and Barbara Niedernhuber (Germany, 200).
At the Doubles Tobias Schiegl/ Markus Schiegl (41,217 Sekunden) from Austria celebrated their first victory of the season at Krombacher Challenge-Cup followed by Steffen Skel/ Steffen Wöller from Germany (41,342) and Italian’s Gerhard Plankensteiner/ Oswald Haselrieder (41,468).
In the overall Challenge Cup Schiegl/ Schiegl took the leadership from Germany’s Olympic Champions Patric Leitner/ Alexander Resch, who, after a great mistake in the first race, didn’t reach the finals and fell back to the fourth rank.
