Ninth Overall Success for the two-time Olympic Champion

Cesana (pps) Armin Zöggeler is still the measure of the quality in luge. Two weeks before the Olympic Winter games at Vancouver (CAN) the two-time Olympic Champion realized to win his 49th Race in Viessmann Luge World Cup and captured for the 9th time the title of the overall Champion. Record winning Markus Prock from Austria is just one overall success ahead.

On the Olympia track of 2006 Zöggeler bat in one minute 43.114 seconds Germany’s two-time World Champion Felix Loch (.319 seconds back). Third place went to Johannes Ludwig (.378 seconds back), who missed to qualify for the Olympics in the strong German team.

Zöggeler won the overall World cup with 705 points followed by Albert Demchenko (534) from Russia. Third place went to Felix Loch (484).

Toby Benshoof from the U.S.A. realized in 5th place his best result of the Olympic season. Gregory Garigiet from Switzerland came in on 8th place. This was his best result ever.
