Calgary (FIL) On June 27/28, 2008, Calgary and Canada will host a Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) for the first time. In view of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, the FIL awarded the annual meeting of delegates from the national member federations to Calgary, the 1988 Olympic city and largest city in the Canadian province of Alberta.
With the first staging of a FIL Congress in Canada, the number of Congress host countries is rising to 16. Calgary is the 36th city to host a FIL Congress.
