Calgary (FIL) At the beginning of its 56th Congress held in Calgary, Canada, the International Luge Federation (FIL) recognized some of its members for their merits. Alfred Jud (ITA), FIL Vice President (natural track), Björn Dyrdahl (NOR), a longtime member of the FIL Executive Board and permanent Technical Delegate at the Viessmann World Cups, as well as Giancarlo Torriani (SUI), who has been chairman of the FIL Control Commission for many years, received the silver medal of honor from the hands of FIL President Josef Fendt. Dr. Jörg Ellermeyer, the chairman of the Medical Commission, and Drahoslav Husek, President of the Czech Republic’s federation, received the medal of honor in bronze.

The first FIL Congress ever held in Canada, is attended by altogether 28 nations from four continents.
