Calgary (FIL) The 56th Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) will focus on rule changes and the election of the chairperson of the Sport Commission. On June 27/28, 2008 the delegates of the national member federations will assemble in Calgary, Canada. Furthermore, the traditional meeting of the organizers of FIL competitions artificial track will be held in the 1988 Olympic city on June 29.

The election of a new chairperson of the Sport Commission became necessary after the longtime chairman Karl Zenker had died in the summer of 2007. The Sport Commission is currently chaired temporarily by Sepp Benz from Switzerland.

Nominations of candidates for the election of the chairperson of the Sport Commission must be submitted to the FIL by May 30. In addition, an assessor for the FIL Court of Arbitration and two members of the Control Commission will be elected.
