President Fendt welcomes 33 National Federations
Berlin (pps) President Josef Fendt of Germany declared the 59th Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) open. Fendt, who has been heading the FIL since 1994, welcomed 33 National Federations in Berlin.
The Congress agenda comprises the reports of FIL President Josef Fendt (GER) and Secretary General Svein Romstad (USA). Additionally, the International Luge Federation will present its new strategic plan and will be informed about the current state of preparations of the 43rd FIL Luge World Championships in Altenberg (GER) in 2012 as well as the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. The delegates will moreover determine the host of the 45th FIL Luge World Championships in 2015.
