Kingdom of Tonga achieves full Membership of FIL
Berlin (pps) The Kingdom of Tonga has now been granted full official membership of the International Luge Federation (FIL). The 59th FIL Congress in Berlin (GER) accepted the application of the archipelagic state in the South Pacific. FIL now has 49 nations with full membership and four temporary members (Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia & Montenegro and Thailand).
The Kingdom of Tonga was represented by Lady Robyn Kaho, the Head of the National Federation and wife of the Prime Minister of Tonga. Tonga was able to fulfill FIL's membership requirements thanks to Bruno Banani. The student ranked 47th in the Viessmann World Cup last season and achieved an honorable 36th place in the Cesana (Italy) World Championships.
