Koenigssee and Sochi bid for the 2016 World Championships
Riga (pps) Koenigssee and Sochi are the two candidates who will bid to host the 46th World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in 2016. The final decision on the bid will be taken during the 60th FIL Congress in Riga on June 15-16, 2012.
At the upcoming Congress a decision as to the future system of Continental Championships artificial track will also be taken.
The hosts of 2015 Worlds have already been appointed – Sigulda (Latvia) will organize the 45th FIL Luge World Championships Artificial Track and Krasnaya Polyana (Russia) will carry out the 20th FIL Luge World Championships Natural Track.
