Berchtesgaden (RWH) The luge winter is hardly over, and already preparations are underway for the 63rd annual meeting of the International Luge Federation (FIL). The FIL Conference being held a year after the 2014 Olympics will take place on 19 and 20 June 2015 in PyeongChang, Korea, which in its turn will be hosting the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in 2018. The Conference will consider the reports of President Josef Fendt (GER) and Secretary General Svein Romstad (USA), as well as proposals regarding amendments to the statues and rules, and the location of the 48th FIL World Championships in 2019. Applications to host the championships should be submitted to the FIL Office in Berchtesgaden by the end of March. The venues for the next two years have already been chosen: the Königssee artificial track (2016) and the Innsbruck-Igls Olympic track (2017). No FIL World Championships will be held in 2018 as is usual in an Olympic year.
