Innsbruck/Igls. (pps) Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl from Austria won the last but one race to the Viessmann Luge Worldcup at the Bob- Luge- and Skeletontrack in Innsbruck-Igls. On their home track, the cousins in 1:21,103 minutes banished the silvermedallists from the Salt Lake City Olympics, Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin (1:21,126) from USA on second rank, followed by Italian’s Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder (1:21,297). Best athlets of the Canadian National Team were Albrecht/Pothier (1:21,686) on rank nine.
In the overall Worldcup Grimmette/Martin (445 points) with the second rank in Igls took the leadership from Germany’s Olympic Champions Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (436), who were twelfth in Igls. Third before the Worldcup finals in Winterberg are Schiegl/Schiegl (386).
