72nd FIL Congress 2024 in Lake Placid, USA

Berchtesgaden (FIL/21 Nov 2023) The 72nd FIL Congress will take place in Lake Placid, USA, from June 14-15, 2024.

This decision was taken by the FIL Executive Board on November 15, 2023 in Berchtesgaden. Lake Placid in upstate New York hosted the 64th FIL Congress in the year 2016.

The World Luge Congress will take place on Friday and Saturday at the 1932 and 1980 Olympic venue, while a joint day with the IBSF (International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation) is planned for the first time on Sunday, June 16.

For reasons of sustainability, the congress venue and date of the two world federations have been planned together for the first time.

The delegates of the national member federations are often the same. The joint planning of the IBSF Congress following the FIL Congress is intended to save travel and organizational expenses.

On Sunday, June 16, a joint day is planned for more intensive communication between the two international sports federations.
