Calgary (RWH) Alex Gough, Sam Edney and the doubles’ team of Tristan Walker-Justin Snith will head into the season as the new national Canadian Champions. The upcoming season starts with the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Innsbruck-Igls, Austria, on November 29.
A three-time Olympian, Calgary’s 27-year-old Gough edged out Kim McRae for her seventh-straight Canadian Crown. Calgary’s Sam Edney also slid to his seventh national title in the men’s singles race. 29-year-old Edney shared the podium with his 19-year-old Olympic teammates, Mitchel Malyk and John Fennell. The 23-year-old Calgarians, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith, secured in Canada Olympic Park in Calgary their fourth Canadian doubles title.
