Alex Gough, Sam Edney and Walker-Snith Canadian Champions

Whistler (RWH) The veterans of the Canadian Luge Team, Sam Edney, Alex Gough along with Tristan Walker and Justin Snith, were crowned Canadian champions in Whistler, British Columbia.
32-year-old Sam Edney, who returned to the national program this fall after taking one year off to attend school, put down the fastest run of the day (50.435) in his second trip down the Olympic track at the Whistler Sliding Centre and took gold. Mitchel Malyk held on for second place. 17-year-old Reid Watts, who won the bronze medal at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway, finished third.
Alex Gough once again proved that she is Canada's Queen of Luge after taking top spot in the women’s national championship race for the eighth time in her career. Kimberley McRae came in second, Rachel Klassen secured bronze.
Canada’s top double of Tristan Walker and Justin Snith posted a personal best start time at 3.284 and a new track record at 38.734 in their first run down the Whistler Sliding Centre securing their seventh straight Canadian Championship.
The Viessmann World Cup season officially starts 26 November in Winterberg, Germany.
