Beijing (pps) The preparations for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, are fully on schedule. The construction of all venues will be completed this fall, said John Furlong, Chief Executive Officer of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), during a presentation delivered on the occasion of the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing. „We have been focusing on completing our venues as fast as possible so that we can begin to concentrate on other aspects”. The calculated budget of approximately 1.5 billion Euros will be adhered to, assured Furlong.

Furlong is heading a team of 38 Canadian experts who are observing the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing. They want to benefit from China’s experience in the organization in order to achieve best possible results in Vancouver. The team was also joined by Gordon Campbell, the Premier of Canada’s province of British Columbia, where Vancouver is located.
