Almost half a billion followers at the Olympic Day workout

Lausanne (RWH) Almost half a billion followers worldwide could be reached by the workout on Olympic Day (23 June), which was organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). More than 141 athletes from 47 sports, including representatives of the International Luge Federation (FIL) took part in the live workout and the Olympic Day video. The activities on all social media channels covered all five continents, over 20 time zones and 24 hours. According to the IOC, 428 million followers were able to watch the global event on the @Instagram account alone. In addition, another 14.5 million followed the event on other IOC channels.

Among the role model athletes were Olympic champions, up-coming talents and sports legends as well as members of the IOC refugee team. For the FIL, Olympic champions Felix Loch, Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt (all GER) as well as the Canadian luge team took part in the event.
