Altenberg bids for World Championships in Luge

Altenberg (RWH) After 1996 und 2012, the artificial track of Altenberg is running a bid to organize World Championships in Luge. Potential terms are the years 2024 or 2025 according to a press release by the local organizers in Altenberg.

In cooperation with the regional federation of Saxony and the German national federation BSD, Altenberg is applying for the Junior World Championships in 2023 as well. All application documents have been submitted to the International Luge Federation (FIL). All bids are supported by the local government of Saxony.

Last season, Altenberg organized the IBSF World Championships in Bobsleigh & Skeleton, which have been attended by more than 25.000 spectators.
