Last year’s winners are the defending World Champions Altenberg (pps) The third stop of the 2012-2013 Viessmann Luge World Cup series in Altenberg will see a revenge for the 43rd FIL Luge World Championships. Next weekend (December 8-9), defending World Champions Tatjana Huefner, Felix Loch (both of Germany), the doubles team with Andreas Linger-Wolfgang Linger of Austria as well as the German quartet in the Team Relay event will be in the limelight once more. Currently leading the overall World Cup standings are Natalie Geisenberger, who claimed bronze at the Worlds, the doubles team with Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt, who missed out on a medal at the Worlds, as well as Felix Loch (all of Germany), who collected his third World Championship title in Altenberg. They will all compete next weekend in the Eastern Ore Mountains. Compared to the World Championships, the Altenberg track will feature a novelty: a refrigeration compressor that further increases the reliability of the refrigeration complex and, thanks to a higher degree of efficiency, also saves energy.
