Andris Šics new FIL Technical Director

Berchtesgaden (FIL) Andris Šics will become Technical Director Artificial Track at the International Luge Federation, FIL, for the 2022/23 season. This personnel decision was made by the FIL Presidium together with the Vice President Technology after an international job advertisement.

The 36-year-old Latvian competed with his brother Juris Sics at five Olympic Winter Games and won three medals. Most recently, the brothers finished fifth in Beijing 2022 and were at the top of the podium in three World Cup races in the 2021/22 Olympic season.

Andris Šics said: “I am very honored to have the opportunity to be part of the FIL family. The new TD job is a big challenge for me and I will do my job professionally. Looking forward to a great collaboration in the development of Artificial Luge sport in the future”.
