Anka Jähnicke/Saskia Schirmer win women’s doubles in St.Moritz

St. Moritz (RWH) Anka Jähnicke and Saskia Schirmer are the names of the winner in women’s doubles. On the natural ice of St. Moritz the German duo captured the victory ahead of their team-mates Jessica Degenhardt/Vanessa Schneider. Counted also as a Junior World Cup, third place went to Maya Chan/Reannyn Weiler (USA).The legendary track of St. Moritz staged the dress rehearsal for the 2020 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Lausanne (January 9-22, 2020), whose luge, skeleton and bobsleigh competitions will be held in St. Moritz.

At the 40th European Championships in St. Moritz (SUI) further victories in Youth A went to Gints Berzins from Latvia, Natalie Corless from Kanada and and Russia’s Mikhail Karnaukhov/Iurii Chirva.

In Junior’s races David Nößler from Germany won as well as Verena Hofer from Italy and Germany’s Hannes Orlamünder/Paul Gubitz in doubles. The Team competition went to Germany (Anna Berreiter, David Nößler und Orlamünder/Gubitz) in front of Latvia and Italy.
