Altenberg (pps) Germany`s Anke Wischnewski celebrated her first victory at Viessmann Luge World Cup. At the season`s opener in Altenberg the 26- year-old girl from Oberwiesenthal finished in a total time of one minute 009 second followed by her teammate and World Champion Silke Kraushaar (1:50,366) and Austria`s Nina Reithmayer (1:50,813). It wasthe best result ever for the Silver Medalists of the junior Worlds. Seventh Place went to Canada`s Regan Lauscher (1:51,206). Margol Brenna (1:51,614) realized the best result for the US-team on 11th Place Anke Wischnewski (GER / 8Th place at the worlds 2003) „I happy deep insight. In Sigulda I will not compete, because in this race it is up to Sonja Wiedemann to start. After this race the coaches will decide, whonis going to race in Lake Placid and Calgary.“ Silke Kraushaar (GER / Weltmeister 2004 und Olympiasiegerin 1998) „All of the girls in our team a able to win a race. I allways thought, that Anke will win a race one day. I`m satisfied with y result, but in some cases it was really a silly race.“ Nina Reithmayer (AUT / Zweite der Junioren WM 2004) „I`m totaly happy. This ist the best result ever for me.“
