ARD presenter Claus Lufen is latest recipient of Richard Hartmann Prize

Oberhof (RWH) Claus Lufen, who presents the luge coverage on ARD, has been awarded the Richard Hartmann Prize by the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation (BSD). The award was presented by BSD President Andreas Trautvetter during the Viessmann World Cup in Oberhof.

Claus Lufen (51), who hails from the Rhineland, has long been the face of the luge coverage on ARD. He also presents coverage of the Olympic Games and the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) for Das Erste. As a reporter, Lufen covers Bundesliga games and international tennis tournaments.

The BSD prize, named after the long-time President of the German Association Richard Hartmann, and initiated by former CEO Günter Gscheidlinger, has been awarded in recognition of journalistic merit in sled sports since 1991. Previous winners include Klaus Angermann (ZDF), Fritz Heimann (Süddeutsche Zeitung), Anno Hecker (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), Peter Grube (ARD), Eberhard Stanjek and Werner Rabe (both Bayerischer Rundfunk), Norbert Galeske (ZDF), and last year’s recipient Frank Stuckatz (MDR).
