Altenberg (pps) Italy’s Armin Zöggeler added his outstanding career another highlight on. The two-time Olympic Champion and five-time World Champion realized his 34th victory in World Cup. The Italian Superstar is now the only one with so many successes. Before the 7th race of the season he drew level with record winning Markus Prock (Austria) and Georg Hackl (Germany), who both achieved 33 successes in Viessmann Luge World Cup. Due to heavy wind the second run of the race was cancelled.

The former team-mate of Zöggeler, Norbert Huber from south Tyrol, was in total 35 times on top of the podium. He realized 26 victories in doubles together with Hansjörg Raffl and nine in men’s single. In the women’s race Germany’s Sylke Otto realized a record number of 37 successes.
Zöggeler won in 54,683 seconds followed by David Möller (54,867) from Germany and Tony Benshoof (55,082) from USA.

In the overall standings Zöggeler is still in the lead with 615 points. Second place goes to Möller (550) followed by Stefan Höhener (368) from Switzerland.
