Tatjana Huefner, Felix Loch and Wendl-Arlt were last year’s winners
Koenigssee (pps) Armin Zoeggeler will remain the “King of Cesana”. The two-time Olympic champion from Italy has never suffered a defeat on the 2006 Olympic luge track. His last victory in Cesana dates back to February 2010, when he claimed his sixth World Championship title.
It needs to be kept in mind that Koenigssee, now host to the World Cup event in lieu of Cesana, is among Zoeggeler’s favorite tracks. Last year, he posted a second-place finish behind Felix Loch but ahead of Johannes Rieder (both of Germany) in the men’s singles. Zoeggeler claimed eight of his 54 individual victories in Koenigssee.
Tatjana Huefner was last year’s winner in the women’s singles ahead of Natalie Geisenberger (both of Germany) and Alex Gough (Canada). Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt (Germany) took the podium’s top spot in the doubles ahead of Andreas Linger-Wolfgang Linger (Austria) and Toni Eggert-Sascha Benecken (Germany).
