Armin Zöggeler’s book published in German

Bolzano (RWH) The book Armin Zöggeler – Mein Leben im Eiskanal (“My Life on the Ice Track”), published by the Folio-Verlag, is now available to buy in German. “Zöggeler gives a no-holds-barred account of the hard work, disappointments and rivalries encountered in elite sport”, according to a press release from the Folio-Verlag in Bolzano (ITA). It continues: “He is regarded as the epitome of calmness and discipline, but he also writes about the psychological challenges he endured and the mental strength required during thirty years at the top of his game.”
Now 42, the South Tyrolean gives an insight into the fast-paced life of a world-class luger in his autobiography, which was co-authored with the Italian sports journalist Simone Battaggia from theGazzetta dello Sport. Zöggeler won a record six World Championship titles in luge, was a three-time European Champion, and is the only winter sports athlete to have won a medal at six consecutive Winter Olympic Games (1994 – 2014), taking home two gold, one silver and three bronze. Following his retirement from the sport in 2014, the father-of-two now works for the Italian Federation as head coach of the national team.
