Calgary (pps) At the end of the 19th World Junior Championships which was held at the Olympic track in Calgary, the Bobsleigh and Luge Association for Germany won two more gold medals.
Andy Graitl won the men‘s singles competition in 1:34,095 minutes in front of the Canadian local hero Matt McMurray (1:34,575) and the Austrian Daniel Pflister (1:34,586), Graitl also won the team competition in 2:17,906 minutes together with the new Junior World Champion Natalie Geisenberger and the doubles Tobias Wendt/Tobias Arlt. Austria was awarded the silver medal (2:18,613) with Nina Reithmayer, Daniel Pflister and the doubles Peter Penz/Georg Fischler, who won the gold medal in the doubles competition the day before. The team from the USA won the bronze medal with Erin Hamlin, Logan Gastio and Matthew Mortensen/Garon Thome.
With three gold and two bronze medals, Germany was the most successful National Federation in front of Austria (one gold, two silver and one bronze medal). The host country of Canada won two silver medals, the USA one bronze medal.
