PyeongChang (RWH) A comeback for Korea’s Olympic track in PyeongChang: This coming winter will see the Alpensia Sliding Centre host the Asian Luge Championships according to the official contract. The continental title races will take place between 18 and 21 December 2019. The Korean province of Gangwon will hold primary responsibility for the track's revival. This was told by the Korean Federation. Eventually in the pre-Olympic season 2021/2021, a Viessmann World Cup will take place in PyeongChang.

At the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, the Alpensia Sliding Centre hosted the races for luge, bobsleigh and skeleton.  The gold medals in the luge events were awarded to Natalie Geisenberger (GER), David Gleirscher (AUT), Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt (GER) and the German squad in the team relay event.  In the season before the Olympics, PyeongChang hosted one Viessmann World Cup event for luge. The track was not used at all last season.
